Is your Car Winter ready?

Preparing Your Vehicle for the Winter Season

Winter is here, AGAIN!!! The winter months can be hard on your Vehicle. The Cold Temperatures, snow, and ice all take their toll. That’s why it’s important to Winterize your Vehicle each year, so you can make sure it’s in top shape to withstand the elements. Here are a few steps you should take to ensure your car is ready for the winter season.   Keeping your gas tank full becomes even more important than ever before. You wouldn't want to take the risk of running out of gas when temperatures dip, after all, you would be on your own out in the cold. For these instances, keeping a good reserve of fuel and making sure it stays consistently full become premier measures to maintaining your safety.

Check Your Battery

The last thing you want is for your Car Battery to fail during a bitter cold day. To reduce the risk of that happening, check your battery's condition and make sure it still has enough power to start up in below-freezing temperatures. If not, have it replaced with a new one that can handle colder weather. You may also want to invest in an Automotive Battery Charger so you can keep your battery topped off during long periods of disuse over the winter season.

Check Your Tires

Your Tires are crucial when driving in slick conditions and icy roads, so make sure they're properly inflated and still have plenty of tread left on them. If not, consider investing in a set of snow tires or all-season tires before the first snowfall hits—it could save you from dangerous skids or slides while out on the roads this winter. Also check any Spare Tires you may have stored away; if they're flat or need air, fill them up before they become too uncomfortable to use in an emergency situation.

Maintain Fluids

Your Engine needs fluid levels maintained throughout the year but especially during colder weather when Oil thickens and Hoses become brittle and prone to cracking. Make sure all Fluids such as oil, brake fluid, windshield wiper fluid, coolant/antifreeze and transmission fluid are topped off before winter arrives (or at least every two weeks). This will help keep your car running smoothly when temperatures drop below freezing and will help prevent costly breakdowns due to frozen fluids or cracked hoses later on down the road.

Winterizing your vehicle doesn't have to be difficult or expensive; it just takes a bit of maintenance know-how and some basic supplies like an automotive battery charger, antifreeze/coolant and snow tires (if needed). By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your vehicle will be ready for whatever Mother Nature throws its way this winter season!
